After suffering multiple strokes, Mario sought assistance & learned of a new permanent supportive housing program to help people like him. According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abu

According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, military combat and alcohol abuse have a strong correlation. Step Up provides its three pillars of support for veteran members through its Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) program which currently serves more than 200 Veterans. The VASH team helps veterans move from the streets, shelters, and transitional housing into permanent supportive housing such as Heroes Landing.
