Step Up provides its three pillars of support for veteran members through its Veterans Services program.
Step Up is committed to supporting veterans in their transition from military service to civilian life by helping those experiencing homelessness secure housing and by providing services aimed at self-sufficiency and wellness.
The Veterans Services program currently serves more than 400 veterans and helps veterans move from the streets, shelters, and transitional housing into permanent supportive housing. The program provides veterans with street outreach, engagement, help with benefits enrollment, and making appointments. Through this process, a trusted partnership develops. Once housed, the Veterans Services team then continues to provide supportive mental and physical health services and life skills programs for veterans in “scattered site” units and in each of its Step Up communities throughout Southern California, including those on-site on the West Los Angeles VA campus.

Building 205
700 Bonsall Ave, LA, CA 90025
Opened in 2023, Building 205 is located on the Veterans Affairs Campus in West Los Angeles. This acquisition/rehab project provides 67 units of veteran housing in a state-of-the-art facility. It joins Buildings 208 and 209, also located on campus, to create a multi-development support community exclusive for veterans.
Building 208
710 Bonsall Ave, LA, CA 90025
Opened in 2023, Building 208 is located on the Veterans Affairs Campus in West Los Angeles. This acquisition/rehab project provides 53 units of veteran housing in a state-of-the-art facility. It joins Buildings 205 and 209, also located on campus, to create a multi-development support community exclusive for veterans.
Building 209
West LA VA Campus
Located on the Veterans Affairs Campus in West LA north of Wilshire, these 54 units are for Veterans who were experiencing chronic homelessness and mental health conditions. Step Up’s Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) team coordinators to assist with services.
Heroes Landing
3312 West 1st St., Santa Ana, CA 92703
Located in Santa Ana, CA, Heroes Landing opened in June 2020 with 76 units. In co-development with Jamboree Housing Corporation, Heroes Landing provides permanent supportive housing & supportive services for veterans experiencing homelessness. Along with the Step Up Life Skills team, the Long Beach VA, Strength in Support, and Goodwill all have offices onsite.
Step Up on Western
5501, 5425 S. Western Ave, LA, CA 90026
Step Up on Western opened in 2021 in South Los Angeles. This motel conversion was supported by Project Homekey and offers 33 units of permanent supportive housing for veterans.
