Today, February 15th, our nation observes Presidents’ Day, in honor of the leadership and achievements of all who have held America’s highest elected office. Not only must a President provide decisive leadership in times of crisis, they must also demonstrate compassion and determination to bind up our nation’s wounds and restore dignity to all people.

As we remember those who served as our Commanders-in-Chief, let us also remember the men and women who serve in our Armed Forces today, especially those in harm’s way. Let us reaffirm our commitment to always ensuring their safety, as well as supporting them upon their return home.  “Our vision is to make Los Angeles an ideal place for veterans.” Robert McDonald, Secretary of Veteran Affairs, said to military and civilians attending an event at the Veterans Campus in Los Angeles last month. “Our purpose is to make life better for veterans, and our goal is to continue to pull people together across the nation, as we are doing so well in Los Angeles.”

Now it’s our turn to serve. Click here to read more about the veterans served by the programs and services of Step Up.
