Step Up part of West Hollywood Homeless Initiative’s multidisciplinary approach

One of Step Up’s core values is collaborative relationships. Its participation in  The West Hollywood Homeless Initiative helps provide programs and services to individuals experiencing long-term homelessness, substance use, and mental health conditions. “The City partners with diverse organizations to meet individuals where they’re at in terms of what they are looking for. So there are teams like Ascencia and  Step Up that help with housing.” Jake Weinraub, LA LGBT Center Mental Health Clinician shares in the video above.

The City provides weekday drop-in services at the West Hollywood Library, and other service collaborators include Tarzana Treatment Center, Safe Refuge, Saban Community Clinic, and the LA LGBT Center. “These organizations and the City work together to connect those in need with appropriate outreach services and care and field therapeutic interventions. This multidisciplinary approach is really important because each individual has such a variety of needs. I think any interaction that someone who is living on the street has where they feel seen for a moment is positive,” Weinraub says.
