LA Times journalist shines a light on the most vulnerable and PSH

In an recent LA Times article dramatically illustrating the critical plight of the most vulnerable individuals experiencing homelessness and mental heath issues on the streets of Hollywood,  journalist Steve Lopez pointed out: “It wasn’t all gloom and doom Friday. I met up midmorning with L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti who’s been stumping for Measure HHH, arguing that in some cases, supporting housing can cost less that all the public safety and hospitalization costs associated with homelessness.” Garcetti and Lopez were visiting a woman they met together in May while touring a Hollywood drop-in center.  The Mayor’s staff helped get Natalia F. off the streets. “Since mid-August, she’s been living at Step Up on Vine, a heralded nonprofit that provides housing and mental health services,” added Lopez. “Natalia said she is still adjusting to her new life indoors, but it’s good to be ‘out of the weather’.”
