Ending Homelessness and an EMMY award all in one week!

I’m excited to announce two very big milestones that occurred this week, and share with you the joy that results from Step Up’s great IMPACT in the community! Move in Day
After several years in development, 32 of our most vulnerable neighbors started moving into The Kaufmann Apartments at Step Up on Colorado! With these 32 tenants, we are ending 188 years of cumulative homelessness in one day. It is a very special week to be able to experience many people who have struggled with mental health issues on the streets of Santa Monica now having their first home in many years!

The Emmy (2)In another amazing milestone, the Directors Guild of America documentary “Santa Monica Cares”, featuring Step Up on Fifth resident Leroy S. won an Emmy! To get the full story and watch a clip of the Emmy award winning film, please visit our June 4th blog.

It’s because of your partnership that this recovery and stability is a reality for those we serve. Step Up on Colorado is a milestone, but really it is just part of the continuum of all the things we do everyday towards our mission of recovery!
