Giving Tuesday Toolkit

Thank you so much!

We are pleased you want to help us fundraise and spread the word about Step Up’s life-changing services with individuals experiencing homelessness and mental health conditions. When we come together, we can make recovery possible for many more individuals.  This #GivingTuesday, November 30th, you can mobilize and inform your networks with just a few simple steps.  Here are some ideas on how you can get started:

1. COPY AND PASTE TO SHARE ONE OF OUR GRAPHICS

Right-mouse click and “copy” one of the GRAPHICS below, then “paste” and post to your social media.  Be sure to tag us in your post to explain who we are @stepuponsecond on Instagram/Twitter and @stepuponsecondst on Facebook.

2. USE THIS SAMPLE MESSAGE:

“I’m participating in Step Up’s advocacy and fundraising challenge this #GivingTuesday because they have helped over 4,000 individuals experiencing chronic homelessness and mental health conditions this past year. You can join me in fundraising for mental health services that are critical to getting more people housed and helping them stay housed. This #GivingTuesday, just $50 can fund meals, $100 can cover two hours of workforce development for Step Up’s members or fund other life-changing supportive services. If mental health and reducing homelessness matters to you, would you help us stop the stigma and support vital mental health services?  My goal is to have  ___  people share this post and hopefully donate too! Will you join me in sharing this message of hope and recovery? We can do so much when we come together.”

3. SHARE OUR #GIVINGTUESDAY FUNDRAISING PAGE

You can post to social media or email the above message to friends with the link to our fundraising page to encourage donations.

Monday and Tuesday, you can just go on Instagram or Facebook and follow and like our posts.   You could just reshare what we post and challenge 3 friends to do the same!  Would you be willing to take 10 minutes to do that?  Be sure to tag us in your post – @stepuponsecond on Instagram/Twitter and @stepuponsecondst on Facebook.

THAT’S IT!  YOU’RE READY!  So go spread the word!

MORE IDEAS on how to HELP FUNDRAISE:

TAKE A PHOTO WITH OUR “STEP UP AND END HOMELESSNESS” FLYER
Print a “Step Up and End Homelessness” flyer and take a photo of you (or your pet) with it.  Share it with our message above and tag us! DOWNLOAD HERE

FUNDRAISE WITH VENMO BINGO
Want to raise $100 for case management services that will change lives? Share our Fundraiser Bingo cards which allow you to break up your goal into small donation increments of just $5 and $10. Encourage your friends to Venmo you, repost the template with the amount donated crossed out and tag them. This way, you will give recognition to your donors and others will know how much money you have left to raise.

When you donate your total amount to Step Up, be sure to note that your donation is for the #GivingTuesday campaign, so we can add it to our own fundraising goal, and it is matched. Use the Venmo Bingo Graphics here (copy and paste cards to your social media)! (click the image to view an enlarged version):

GIVE AN OVERVIEW OF STEP UP
We’ve created multiple infographics (included in #1 above) to let people know more about Step Up’s impact as an organization.  Include our fundraiser link in your Instagram/Twitter bio and Facebook post. You can advocate while fundraising!
